A new chapter is taking shape at Furka Pass: Furka Basecamp is undergoing a complete renovation. In summer 2027, we look forward to welcoming guests in renewed surroundings, with warm hospitality.
A fresh start at Furka Pass
For many people, Furka Pass brings back a particular moment: a pause along the way, a view into the mountains or the anticipation of another day outdoors. This is the setting in which we are preparing the next chapter of Furka Basecamp.
The Basecamp is being completely renewed. But a place is more than its appearance: we want mountain lovers to feel welcome here. Looking forward to meeting our future guests is already part of the preparations.
What is planned for summer 2027
Opening is planned for summer 2027. We cannot yet announce a confirmed opening day. Once the date is set, we will share it on our website and contact everyone who has signed up for the opening notification.
Until then, this journal will offer glimpses of the renovation. We will publish details of the future offering as they are confirmed, so you can follow the progress and base any later travel plans on reliable information.
Renewed surroundings, a warm welcome
We look forward to welcoming people who enjoy spending time in the mountains: hikers, mountain lovers, ski tourers and small groups. We will introduce the details of a future stay at the renewed Basecamp step by step.
Our aim is a warm welcome and a personal atmosphere. Preparations are still under way, but we are already looking forward to the day when we can greet you here.
Photographs from before the renovation
Older photographs may also help tell the Basecamp's story during the renovation. We will clearly label these as images taken before the renovation. They show the previous building and do not promise particular facilities in the renewed Basecamp.
Archive photographs with snow also reflect the season in which they were taken, rather than current conditions at the pass. We will add new views as suitable photographs become available.
